As a proud resident of Kafue Estates in Kasenje Ward, I envision a revitalized community where our iconic BF flats become symbols of local pride and collaboration. Growing up in Kafue, these flats were more than just buildings—they were integral to our identity. To breathe new life into them, I propose naming each flat after prominent companies in our town, such as Nitrogen Chemicals of Zambia, Lee Yeast, Universal Mining, Mega Bakery, Zesco, and Alliance Ginneries.
Additionally, we can partner with companies like Airtel, MTN, and Zamtel to work alongside the council to enhance our community. These companies could provide and maintain garbage bins painted in their corporate colors, contributing to a cleaner and more vibrant Kasenje Ward.
These businesses could adopt their respective flats, taking responsibility for their upkeep, including regular painting and maintenance. This initiative could serve as a powerful form of corporate social responsibility (CSR) or a unique advertising opportunity, allowing companies to demonstrate their commitment to our community while beautifying our ward. In the past, Indeco maintained these flats, and it’s time to revive that spirit of care and pride.
We aim to transform Kasenje Ward into a vibrant, well-maintained community that reflects the strength and unity of Kafue. Together, we are taking charge of our ward’s future, restoring its beauty, and building a legacy for generations to come.
