The Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock in Itezhi-Tezhi District has announced that a Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) vaccination campaign will commence on Wednesday, 10th September 2025.

The exercise will target cattle in high-risk areas across the district.

According to Dr. Munthali, the District Fisheries and Livestock Coordinator, the identified high-risk areas include Muunga, Makunku, Banamwaze, Lubanda, ITT Camp, Babizhi, Basanga, and Iyanda.

Farmers in these localities are advised to present their cattle at their respective crush pens for vaccination.

Dr. Munthali has also urged all farmers to contact the veterinary officers in their respective camps for more information and assistance regarding the exercise.
